I have recently decided to start a new company, Black Sheep Kustoms. A part-time business for a full-time.....well, I guess obsession. Just something to be able to put a brand or company name on the things that I'm building. If I don't make any money, that's cool, that's not the whole purpose it.

And unlike Black Sheep Kustomz (with a "Z") and blacksheepkustoms.com (which appears to be dead/defunct), I have a business license. Hope to have a web-sites set up soon. Currently working on my shop "truck". I have a Schwinn Stingray from August of 1976, making it into a lowrider with a sound system trailer. Will post pics and explanations in another post.

Since I decided not to follow logical advice, I am in the market for another welder. The TSC "on sale" welder that I bought has taken a crap. Of course the warranty has expired, so I'm stuck. What I would like is a nice Miller 252, but I'm looking more towards a 140, maybe even a Lincoln instead of a Miller to save a few bucks. Anyone that has one that they might want to part with (or give away), or know someone who does....please get back with me.

WOW Good luck to you on the business. With todays economy it will tough but building toys is something that always sells. As far as the welder Id look into the Lincolns. Im not a welder but a friend of mine is and likes them much more than Millers. If you look at the line up they have a much more diverse line.

Yeah, the economy, even though I've heard from CNN that it's up the upswing, is something that will greatly affect the money making aspect of a new start-up business such as mine. But like I said, that's cool. If I can do nothing else than break even doing something that not only holds my interest, but makes me happy and brings me a sense of joy and accomplishment, then I couldn't ask for anything better really. Yeah, I guess that notoriety and recognition amongst the likes of Jesse James, Chip Foose, Bill Hines, Denver Mullins (this list literally goes on, and on), would be cool, but it's more for "love of the game".

And I've had the opportunity to weld with a Miller 252 not long ago at my old Tech school. Had the separate spool gun, and tank for MIGing aluminum.....very nice piece of equipment. Very expensive too. Been looking (and leaning) a lot towards either a Lincoln or a Hobart. Quite a bit less than a Miller. And with the economy, I've got to count every penny, and make every penny count.
