Elvergon,
I have heard the same thing about the 2 pc rims. Remember you get what you pay for. Spend the extra for the 1 pc tims and you will be much happier.

Douglas 1 piece wheel are around $22.00 brand new. The 2 piece wheels are pretty antiquated. They are a pain to keep sealed. I used them when I raced Karts in the rain. That way when you slid off the track or into the side of another kart and bent a wheel, you usually had to only replace 1 half. I would shy away from them and find some Douglas wheels. I stay away from Van-K wheels all together. Their 1 piece wheels are a real pain in the a$$ to get beaded up. They have a lip around the bead area that won't let the tire seal unless you put a dangerous amount of air in them. I called Van-K and questioned them about it. The guy told me to put them in a lathe and cut the lip off. I told him it would be easier for him to change his CNC program than for me to spend 3 hours mounting tires on his wheels. I haven't bought on since. Douglas is the only way to go, Priced reasonable and a quality product.
