Well I finished this a few weeks back. I know most are going to bash me for not using a real stool, so be it. This is my second frame. The first was bent by a friend and a truck. The stool is a carry over from the first with a few more loops added. The pad in front of the seat is for my 3 1/2 year old. She loves her "scooter" 5.5 OHV, cheap clutch, mechanical disc, bearings sprocket axil spindels are from BMI.

I wouldn't give you any hell over not using a real stool. These things(BSR's) should not be governed by alot of rules and regulations. Instead they should represent the individuality of the builder. You have a really cool stool, and it is running. Mine is in the beginning stages of assembly, and i can't wait to get all of my parts in so i can get on the road and get a ticket for illegally riding it in the street.. So, how do you like the Briggs 5.5? Does it give you the right amount of power?

I want to know what your opinion of the 5.5 is too. I want us to keep carrying them. For the price you just cant beat it. Glenn

Yep i have to say that a BSR should show alot about the one who put it together. Just like custom cars. If they all look the same they wouldn't be worth looking at.
I'm trying to paint mine at this point.

You got it. I have to say that i got a lot of help building my BSR from this site. And I'm glad that i have a way to give something back. Lets not let this site go down. I see a lot of others putting up links so they can make money on this site. And mbean doesn't have to do that. It takes money to keep this site up. Come on guys lets help out.
Decals are in the works.

Come on now Sniffles...Building your own barstool I feel is cheating yourself out of a build and the idea of the build.

What I mean is, the challenge is to figure out how to fit the engine under the stool using a real barstool not a fake you make to fit around the engine. Also you cannot cut the barstool up and cheat like some do.

I think we had a big discussion on this a while back in another forum. I believe this is the thread is you are interested...

I just had to throw in my .02 cents on that statement...

i know but if you build your own barstool you can say you built the whole thing not just most of it...

So it is really a barstool racer or a look alike? There are also a lot of parts you purchase when building a barstool racer. I just think because of the nature of the beast a real stool should be used and then build everything else if you want.
